WELL EXAMINATION
As a natural follow-on from Risk Assessment / Safety, IDEAS also provides Well Examination Services per the 1996 Design & Construction Regulations encompassing the methodology espoused by the UK’s Health & Safety Executive.
Through utilising a very detailed "Elements of Examination" format originally constructed with Lloyd’s of London following the spirit of the 1996 Design & Construction Regulations themselves, wells are subjected to a very detailed analysis regarding risk and safety, resulting in a detailed Well Examination Report. This report may either give the well’s design a "no risk" clean bill of health or degrees of risk as the case may be which may invite subsequent design review and possible subsequent improvement.
The intent at all times is to review risk and design throughout the well’s life-cycle from reservoir, drilling, testing, completion, production and work-over points of view such that risk is minimised and safety is maximised.
Very often, due to the detailed examination itself and the examiner’s wide-ranging world-wide experience, it is also found that a well’s design can be optimised from cost and productivity points of view too – resulting in further advantage to the operator as well as life-cycle benefit to the insurer.
