Pumping is a process whereby fluids can be raised, compressed, propelled or transferred from one point to another and a pump unit provides the necessary work/energy required to effect these operations.
Pumping systems are employed at the very core of the oil and gas industry in the areas of drilling, completions, well servicing and reservoir improvement e.g. Circulation, Well control, Pressure integrity testing and Well stimulation/Cementing.
Pumps are also employed for special production applications, such as down hole electric submersible pumps (ESPs), rod (beam) pumps, and progressive cavity pumps (PCPs), for secondary recovery operations. The media used in this course is Presentations, manuals, videos, case histories and live examples.
